TRUST APPOINTS NEW MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Mr Sewa Singh has been appointed the new Medical Director for Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and will take up the post on 1 April.
Mr Singh will take over from Dr Robin Bolton, who retires on 31 March, having been the Trust’s Medical Director for two years.
Mr Singh has worked for the Trust as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon since 1996. He was Clinical Director for Surgery in 2004-07, Clinical Director, Division of Surgery 2008-10, and Deputy Medical Director from 2010 to the present.
Mr Singh comments on his new role: “I am delighted to be appointed as Medical Director, and look forward to continuing to work with dedicated and hard-working staff, at a Trust I am committed to.“
He added: “This is an important and challenging time both for the Trust and the NHS as a whole. I aim to build on the excellent work that has already been done here, promoting excellence and quality in everything that we do and continuing to improve our hospitals and the services we offer for our patients, carers, and the wider community.”
Welcoming the appointment, Chairman Chris Scholey said: "I am very pleased that Sewa is taking on the extremely important role of Medical Director. His clinical and managerial experience will be invaluable, and his local knowledge and understanding of our patients’ needs will assist us in moving forward and continuing to improve services for our service users and carers.”
